In 1366, Doña Inés de Limoges donated the property to the Dominican Order, which turned it into a monastery.

The friars farmed the fields and tended the vines, forging a bond with the land that has remained part of Hacienda Zorita's story to this day. The monastery also welcomed professors from the University of Salamanca and distinguished visitors, becoming a meeting place for knowledge, culture and hospitality.

More than six centuries later, 1366 remains a defining date in Hacienda Zorita's identity.

After centuries of history and different chapters, Hacienda Zorita began a new life at the start of the 21st century.

Between 2001 and 2004, the estate was restored, recovering its spaces and showcasing the architecture and materials that held the essence of the place. In 2004 it opened its doors as a Wine Hotel, beginning a new chapter in which heritage, hospitality and wine culture came together in a unique setting.

Today, its gardens, chapel, winery and historic spaces keep the memory of this place alive, welcoming new experiences on the banks of the Tormes.
